Signing day for the new class of college recruits is quickly approaching. It happens Febraury 1st. The latest commit for the Huskers is LeRoy Alexander of Toledo Whitmer high school, listed as an athlete as a running back or defensive back.
He's the 12th player accepting a scholarship at Nebraska.
Will the Husker also get Grand Island quarterback Ryker Fyfe, though they have not offered him a scholarship, or will Ryker accept a full ride from Coach Darrell Morris and the UNK Lopers?
The answer came on the Doug and Daddy Show on ESPN 1460 and 1550 Monday.
Ryker ,who threw for nearly 2,000 yards and 14 touchdowns during the Islander 9-2 season, will go to Nebraska, to walk on, not UNK for a scholarship. Last year at this time former Aurora quarterback Tyson Broekemeier had the same decision and he also chose to "walk on" at Nebraska, then ended up getting hurt and not playing.
