It was an icebreaker, a much needed win, a must win if you will for the Husker mens basketball team. It came, though, against Penn State by the narrow score of 68-64. It came against a team that likewise was winless in the Big 10 when the teams met Saturday in Happy Valley.

Now the question is can Tim Miles squad continue the momentum against a much better Illinois team.

With freshman Shavon Sheilds going off for 29 points, the Huskers feel they have a good chance tonight since the Illini have lost three straight.

They've dropped out of the Top 25 but are a capable team, just look at their 74-55 win over Ohio State January 5th.

Nonetheless, 6 of the next 8 games are at home for the Huskers and if they are to make a move toward a winning season, now is the time. Tipoff is at 7:30 at the Devaney Center.
