Husker basketball struggles to be competitive

by News 5 Sports

When Nebraska joined the Big 10, we knew the league would not make it easy for the newcomers on the block.

Husker fans must feel like bouncing on their heads after Saturday night's loss to the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.

After some great energy early and an 8-5 lead, Nebraska just fell apart and the visitors from Columbus dealt the Big Red its worst home defeat at 79-45.

At 2-6, the Huskers have been competitive in 5 of the league eight games, and coach Doc Sadler can't understand why his squad can't be at least competitive in the rest of the ten regular season games.

Starting with the game against the Iowa Hawkeyes Thursday night at Carver-Hawkeye, the Huskers face team in 5th place or below in the Big 10 in 8 of the remaining 10 games, so there should be some victories there.
