Huskers get ready to challenge Northwestern

Nebraska goes into Saturday's game at Northwestern as the #1 rushing offense in the Big 10. Northwestern is second in the league in defending the run.

As we know, senior Rex Burkhead was shaken up in the 2nd half at Ohio State in the Huskers most recent game.

Rex had missed two games and most of another with that knee injury suffered in the season opener against Southern Miss.

Ameer Abdullah has stepped in nicely with 514 yards and seven touchdowns.

Both guys should be 100 percent for the Northwestern game, and chances are the Huskers are going to need both against what's been a much improved Northwestern defense.

It could be a battle of the running backs and running games Saturday.
While the Huskers are first in the league in rushing, Northwestern is 5th averaging almost 230 yards on the ground.

That's a concern for the Big Red ranked 10th in rushing defense in the Big 10 allowing nearly 190 yards a contest in six games so far.
