Huskers look ahead to Big Ten matchup
Big Ten football is about to begin. Nebraska entertains Wisconsin Saturday night in Prime Time.
One year ago, the #8 Huskers played their first Big Ten game ever in Madison. Led by quarterback Russell Wilson, who'll start Monday night for the Seattle Seahawks against the Green Bay Packers, the 7th ranked Badgers rolled to a 48-17 victory en route to their 2nd straight league title. News 5's Will Sherratt was in Lincoln Monday for coach Bo Pelini's press conference where he said the game against the Badgers will once again be a great challenge. No more unknown teams, no more FCS opponents, Big Ten play is finally here as Nebraska looks forward to getting things started against Wisconsin "They've been to the Rose Bowl two years in a row so they haven't forgotton how to play football. They're a good football team and we've got to get better this week. We've got to prepare well and we've got to take care of our preparating and get ready to go," said Pelini. "I'm really excited about starting the Big Ten and the whole team is, we want to show how strong we are and how far wd have come," said Taylor Martinez. "First and foremost we have to take it to them up front and we can't let them run the ball on us," Will Compton said. "It's good to get through non-conference play now and really get into the big time games and we're going to be challenged right off the bat and we're going to have to have a good week of preparing to just be ready," said Rex Burkhead. So it will be the Huskers and the Badgers 7:00 pm kickoff on Saturday night. It is homecoming, new jerseys and a raucous crowd. |
