These very early rankings are up on espn.com moving the Huskers up from their 24th place finish and 9-4 record last season.
Nebraska is ranked one spot ahead of defending Big 10 champion Wisconsin, who visits Memorial Stadium September 29th.
Michigan is ranked 10th and Michigan State 13th.
USC is pre-seaosn #1, LSU 2nd and the defending national champion Crimson Tide of Alabama 3rd.
