Legion Baseball: Cornhusker League All-Star Game

While it is all-star night in Kansas City with the National League taking on the American League, area American Legion teams sent out their own galaxy of stars.

It is the Cornhusker League All-Star game as the East meets the West here at Ryder Park in Grand Island.

Bottom of the 2nd and the West All-Stars Tanner Griffith of Norfolk hits one to the outfield, it looks like a sure hit by Jake Schleppenbach of Union Bank makes a great catch to deny the hit.

Now in the top of the 3rd, Casey Philpot of Lincoln Sampson rips one,but Creighton recruit Will Bomsberger of Grand Island Home Federal and the West makes a great catch as well.

In the bottom of the 4th, it is a 3 all game when Grady Kowalski of Kearney Runza of the West rips an RBI basehit to give the West a 4-3 lead.

Now Trev Muth of Columbus with another RBI hit, the West takes a 5-3 lead. Keegan Fitzgerald of Kenarey Runza continues the hit parade, it is 6-3West, they go onto an 8-6 win over the East.
