Lopers adjust to MIAA conference
While the Jays have their sights squarely on what has been an almost annual trip to March Madness, the UNK Loper basketball teams are getting used to a new league with new opponents.
Jumping from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to the MIAA will have its "Rocky" moments for the Lopers and that is not a surprise. The Loper men have had a pair of double digit league losses first to Lincoln University then to Northwest Missouri. Kevin Chaney's Loper women have divided a pair of games against both opponents. According to the coaches, it's easy to see the step up in competition. Overall, both Loper basketball teams are fighting to get to the .500 mark. The men are 2-5 with games next week against Doane and Hastings. The women are 3-5. Their next game will be January 3rd. |
