Monday high school football highlight reel (10/29/12)
We won't have to wait long for our next round of high school football playoffs. Many of the teams take the field this Wednesday, Halloween night.
Before we look forward to this week, we take a look back on last week's action. Our playoff Monday highlight reel starts in Bladen where there seemed to be a shortage of light and some would say football players. This is six man action doing the work of 11. The Silver Lake Mustangs take on the Arcadia Huskies and in their first year of six man, Mustang Mania prevails 36-21. The St. Cecilia Bluehawks take flight at Duncan Field in a rematch of the final regular season game. STC pitches a shutout at Thayer Center, 34-0. It is dualing shutouts as Sutton does the same thing to Cambridge. These winners meet in another rematch, this time in playoff action Wednesday. Which team will allow a playoff point first? Stay tuned. At Adams Central Jake Fowler once again gets some serious camera time. He darts toward the sidelines, then takes a right. The camera follows him to the endzone and so does the Minden Whippet defense as the Patriots are a perfect 9-0 and will once agin go at the GICC Crusaders here at Patriot Field Wednesday. In perhaps the upset of the first round, the Kearney Bearcats were eyeing a deep playoffs run and perhaps a rematch with top ranked Millard North to bounce back from their only loss. However, Omaha Central comes to Foster Field and ends the Bearcat season dealing them a second loss and knocking them out of the playoff race. As we anticipate this weeks games, all signs point to more exciting action. |
