Monday highschool football highlight reel (9/17/12)

Tools

On our Monday highlight reel we have the usual great plays and interesting story angles. Watching the games we can tell, its fun to be there, enjoy the competition and see why Fridays are fantastic when football season is in session.

We start our Monday highlight reel with a spectacular play in the kick return game.

It's Sutton Mustang Brody Yost fielding the punt against Malcolm. He hands to Noah Johnson who side steps a would be tackler, then gets to the edge, he is off and running on an 87 yard touchdown run as the Mustangs are on their way to victory giving them a 4-0 record on the season.

Let's now go to Grand Island Northwest and go up top, it's quarterback Zac Rouzee of the Vikings firing deep, he finds his man Trevor Kraft who makes a spectacular fingertip catch against Lexington, the Vikings are on their way to victory and are 3-1 on the season.

Staying in Grand Island, just across the highway we go to Memorial Stadium, it's the Norfolk Panthers taking on the Islanders, it's Norfolk's Taylor Reedy to Bobby Albrecht, the ball is thrown just over the hand of the defender into the arms of the receiver for the score.
Norfolk goes to 3-1 with the win over Grand Island.

At Duncan Field, St. Cecilia high school presents a wreath to the visiting team from Blue Hill honoring the four people who died in the two vehicle accident two weeks ago there. The Bobcats do what no team has been able to do since 2006, defeat the Bluehawks in the regular season coming up with a 28-20 victory.

Let's go to Giltner where the Class D-2 #1 ranked Hornets show why. What a grab by Dustin Hastings of the Jake Findley throw the Hornets score early and often in a 59-17 win over the 2nd ranked Bluedevils.
Here is something cool for Jake, one of his fans wears his jersey to the game. Who is that fan? Her name is Wendy, yes Wendy, Jake's mom and a student herself here at Giltner not too long ago.

On our Monday highlight reel, we have plenty to cheer about.

Another Friday of football will happen soon so have your camera ready, don't get your signals crossed and we'll see you for our next Monday highlight reel.
