Nebraska Women’s Basketball learn their NCAA seed placement
Connie Yori's Nebraska basketball team learned where it would go to compete in the NCAA Tournament first round.
News 5's Will Sherratt was in Lincoln earlier Monday with coach Yori and the Huskers when the much anticipated NCAA Announcement came down. When they arrived at the Hendricks training complex Monday Afternoon. The brackets were empty then the Lady Huskers watched intently. Anticipating to hear "Nebraska" as they followed along, filling in each line. Until they finally heard the words they were waiting to hear. But it wasn't quite the spot they were hoping for. A 6th seed taking on 11th seeded Chattanooga. "Well we were probably a little bit surprised, based on our RPI. We were probably thinking we were going to be a four or five seed. And I know some people had us at thgree but I didn't really expect us to be a three seed, but I did think we would probably be a four or five seed," said Connie Yori, NU Head Coach. There's no time to dwell though, because there's no room for error at this stage in March "I'm excited but honestly, it's win or go home and I don't want to be done yet. I loved playing for Nebraska and I want to continue that and do that for as long as I can," said Lindsey Moore, Senior Guard. Safe to say Chattanooga hasn't been on Nebraska's radar this season. Afterwords senior guard Lindsey Moore was asked who Chattanooga's mascot was. She looked around and said, the mocks, I think? Safe to say Nebraska will be very familiar with Chattanooga come Saturday. |
