Saturday game marks end of era for Tom Osborne

Saturday will not only mark the last home football game for this season, but the last home game for Tom Osborne at Athletic Director.

In fact, Saturday's contest will mark the 500th Husker football game Tom has been a part of as either an assistant coach, head coach or athletic director.

Tom coached the Huskers from 1973 through 1997 to 253 victories and 3 National Titles.

He took over as AD midway through the 2007 season after Steve Pederson was dismissed.

Saturday's game program will have Tom's picture on it from his early years coaching the Huskers.

They'll be tributes to Tom throughout the game.

In those 499 games, the Nebraska is 403-91-5.

Since 1970, Nebraska has won 420, 27 more than any Division IA Team.
