Signing day is quickly approaching for would-be college football players. One of those players is Grand Island Islander quarterback Ryker Fyfe.
Ryker's scenario is exactly the same as former Aurora quarterback Tyson Brockemeier last year at this time.
Ryker, like Tyson, has been offered a chance to "walk on" at Nebraska by coach Bo Pelini. That means he has to pay for his own college costs. That's what Tyson did.
The UNK Lopers and coach Darrell Morris have offered Ryker a full scholarship.
With the depature of four year starter Jake Spitzelberger, Ryker might have a chance to play right away for the Lopers.
Ryker passed for nearly 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns last season and also ran for 746 yards and 14 scores.
Decision day comes February 1st.
