No, it is not the Monday highlight reel that we have today, but since we had the playoffs Tuesday night, we switch it to our WEDNESDAY highlight reel.

Let's first look at the crowd at Sutton last night. All were here to see the Doniphan Trumbull Cardinals play the Sutton Mustangs in the Class C-2 state semi finals.

Fans packed the stands and ringed the sidelines on both sides. It was the place to be in Central Nebraska.

As for the game, Sutton quarterback Cole Wiseman did what he does best, lead the unbeaten Mustangs to the end zone.

His 44 yard explosion here in the 3rd quarter and his short touchdown pass to Reed Stone in the Fourth kept the Cardinals at bay and sends the Mustangs to the state title game next Tuesday at 10:15 AM at the home of the Huskers in Memorial Stadium. Sutton defeats Doniphan-Trumbull 38-16.

In Albion, fans there probably left thinking its' a shame both teams couldn't move on. The Patriots of Adams Central never trailed in a game this season before falling behind 7-0 to the Boone Central Newman Grove Cardinals.

Behind Creighton Reed and Jake Fowler, the Patriots rallied to lead 14-7 in the Fourth, but two late Cardinal scores sends them to Lincoln for a rematch with Norfolk Catholic in Tuesday's title game.

First up in the title picture will be the Giltner Hornets who'll challenge Humphrey St. Francis in the D-2 title game.

It'll be much brighter in Memorial Stadium than Shelton Bulldog Stadium where Jake Findlay set a record for his 58th touchdown pass without an interception in a 60-20 win.

We'll wrap up up our not another Monday highlight reel for the season next week after the title games.

We'll be ready to take flight, we promise we won't get a big head and hope that everyone can find their way out of the darkness to see us right here on News 5 whatever day because of circumstances we run our highlight reel.
