9th annual O'Reilly NCRA Late Model Nationals held this weekend
As the drivers get set to race in Friday night's first of back to back evenings of the 9th annual O'Reilly NCRA Late Model Nationals, they are probably asking themselves these questions.
Will this year's races again be battles between champion Kelly Boen and challenger Kyle Berck, or will someone else emerge as champion? We will soon begin to find out starting at 7:30 Thursday night as the heat races start. A field of about 40 will be narrowed to the final 24 to compete in the "A" feature which will go off at about 10:00. With Kelly Boen in from Colorado as defending champ, all eyes will be on him. “Kelly Boen has dominated here winning both times last year. Kyle Berck gave him competition and we can always count on that and as for Kelly, he'll always be here for us,” said Doug Stange, Mid-Nebraska Track Owner. Such crowd favorites as Al Humphrey will also compete for the $2,500 dollar first prize each night. There is plenty of excitement around the track with these races featuring the best cars and best drivers. “We've just been getting the track ready for the biggest weekend of the season and we feel the track is ready and the races will be ready to go,” said Stange. Doug said he expects such excellent drivers as Cory Zeitner, Jace Kaiser, Joe Kasiski and John Anderson among others to race. They should be there both Thursday night and Friday night in the O'Reilly NCRA Late Model Nationals with the features each of the next two nights about 10. |
