Kearney coaches meet up to talk about teams
Earlier Thursday Kearney coaches in football and the other sports had a chance to get together, talk about their teams and talk directly to many of the fans that will come and see them play.
They came together here at the UNK Sports Center for the annual Kearney preview fall sports luncheon. As the season gets ready to get underway, the coaches are happy to be here and talk about their teams. "The chamber and everybody involved with this, they do a great job supporting UNK Athletics, Kearney high athletics, and Kearney Catholic athletics. It's one of those situations where we all come together here for this little luncheon and it's a great opportunity to rub shoulders with the community," said Kearney Bearcat Coach Brandon Cool. "It is a great community, it's a great sports community and Kearney does love athletics and we're proud to be part of that, we're excited for Kearney high and Kearney Catholic and all the kids and teams that will start their fall sports," said UNK Football Coach Darrell Morris. "This is awesome, I'm glad they invite all the schools and like I said the public gets to get a little glimpse of our program or get a little glimpse of all programs so this is just fantastic all of us to be here," said Kearney Catholic Football Coach Dave Colling. The Kearney Catholic Stars don't start until a week from Friday when they come to Hastings to face the defending Class C-1 champion St. Cecilia Bluehawks. |
