Alamilla pleads not guilty

This morning a Lincoln man pleaded not guilty in Hall County District Court to charges of felony motor vehicle homicide after an August car accident that killed a Grand Island man.

30 year old Hermino Alamilla (Ala-mia) is charged with felony motor vehicle homicide, for driving under the influence, crashing, causing the death of his  29 year-old passenger Jerry Ramirez.

Alamilla also pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of refusal to submit to a test, and obstructing a police officer. Alamilla is also charged with being a habitual criminal. In court this morning, Alamilla had a brace on his right ankle and sat reclined with his eyes partially closed. When he was arraigned in August he was in a wheelchair.

When he lost control and entered the median, rolling the car several times. Ramirez was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. A pretrial hearing has been set for December 5th.
