Don't be surprised if you see a closed sign hanging on the entrance of the Archway.

The attraction will be closed to the general public from January 1st through February 28th. Archway officials say the temporary closure will allow staff to complete necessary and routine maintenance after being open nearly non-stop for the past 13 years.

Archway Board President Joel Johnson says the 8 week respite will also provide staff an opportunity to focus on rebranding and promoting the facility. An anticipated grand reopening is scheduled for March 1st.

If the election was today, who would you vote for Grand Island mayor?
