Attorney General candidate, Pete Pirsch boasts a list of 65 elected officials endorsing him.

Among them, State Senators Les Seiler from Hastings, Galen Hadley from Kearney and former Governor Charles Thone.

With prison reform remaining a critical issue in Nebraska for the foreseeable future, Pirsch and his supporters say his experience as a criminal prosecutor and the 8 years he spent in the state legislature will serve him well as attorney general.

This past session, Pirsch co-sponsored a bill to change the good time law to earned time.

"Violent offenders should not be given, especially when they continue to be violent in prison, automatic reductions in sentences." Said Pirsch.

"If you're familiar with criminal procedure, understand where cases are and what's overloading the prison system, having an attorney general that you've got confidence in would make a world of difference." Said 33rd District State Senator Les Seiler of Pirsch.

Other candidates running against Pirsch for the Republican nomination include Attorney Brian Buescher, attorney Mike Hilgers, and Doug Peterson.

The primary election is May 13th.
