The Johnny Football saga has apparently been resolved and it's good news for Texas A&M. A&M quarterback and HeismanWinner Johnny Manziel will be suspended for only the first half of Saturday's opener against Rice, and no other games. Randy Huebert Aurora Huskies take the field Friday night for their opener and as News 5's Will Sherratt reports, the Huskies have their eyes on the high school football ultimate prize. Welcome to Aurora Home of one of the most consistent high school football programs in the state "Huskies, Huskies, Huskies. Let's go boys!" "It's in the blood. It's in the water. The kids come in and work hard. They have high expectations. It's the same way our community is." "As a child we were always taught the tradition. And now it's a way of life. It becomes more of a habit. And as you get older you just morph into the tradition. You are all a part of the Big Red and White." Last year ...was more of the same for the Huskies Another deep run in the playoffs ...that resulted in a semi final loss to Norris "It's one of those things that you have to get past. You can't just kind of linger in that moment. You just got to get back up. Keep going." "It just comes down to who wants it the most and I feel that this year we'll have a good run at it." The Huskies will be challenged right off the bat as they pay a visit to the McCook Bison, in perhaps the best game in the opening week, in the entire state "Coach Gross always has his team well prepared. They play good fundamental football. They are physical. They've always got speed. It's going to be a great atmosphere down there." "I do like a good challenge and McCook, they are about as good as you can get. They have always been great in the past. They are kind of like us. They are held to a higher standard." Standards ...that the Huskies don't shy away from Every season ...they Write down five goals ...put them up on the wall And take a peek every day they head out to the field "Winning season of course is our biggest one. District champions. I mean it just gets higher and higher. You have to take it one goal at a time." And the ultimate goal ... the one realized back in '08 and '09? "Yea it's up there." "A state championship would be awesome. Not going to lie." .
