This morning the legislature got off to a productive start, passing several bills. Among them -- a bill that would require insurance coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of autism.
Lincoln Senator Colby Coash's bill, LB505 garnered overwhelming support from the families it would affect. One week ago the bill advanced out the Banking Commerce and Insurance committee, but the bill needed to be attached to another bill in order to hit the floor.

Today, LB 505 passed as an amendment to LB 254. That bill addresses the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission. LB 254, along with the newly accepted autism amendment, faces one more vote of approval before heading to the Governor's desk.
