Harvard resident Avis Ivalon “Ivy” Jarzynka, 86, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska surrounded by her family.
Rosary is 7:30 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Clay Center, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Harvard, NE with Father Julius Tvrdy officiating. Interment will follow at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Friday, 1p.m. until the Rosary at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 113 North Brown Ave., Clay Center, NE.

Ivy was born August 3, 1927, to William I. and Zola (Flynn) Rollins in Hill City, KS. Ivy married Stanley Ben Jarzynka on August 21, 1950, and farmed near Hazard, NE., moving to Harvard in 1951. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, lifetime member VFW Auxiliary, St. Joseph Altar Society. She enjoyed being a cub scout den mother, crocheting, quilting, and helped initiate the ball field near the family home in Harvard. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her retirement years on the farm.
Surviving their mother are Milton Jarzynka; Mike Jarzynka and wife, Debra; Tony Jarzynka and wife, Kathy; Paul “Rick” Jarzynka and wife, Laurie; Cindy Jarzynka; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Jarzynka (wife of deceased son, Stanley V. Jarzynka) all of Harvard, NE; Kevin Jarzynka and wife, Ruth of Staplehurst, NE; Linda Griess and husband, Ardell of Sutton, NE; 23 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Helen Dodson and Laura Krous; brothers, Frankie Dale Rollins, Richard Rollins, Lee Rollins, Raymond Rollins and Randy Rollins; brothers-in-law, Charles Jarzynka and Emmett Jarzynka and sisters-in-law, LeDonna Jarzynka, Sharon Jarzynka and Dorothy Jarzynka and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ben; son, Stanley Valentine (Bub); infant daughter, Mary-lyn Marie; granddaughter, Fernie Pair; sisters, Marilyn Faye Sapp and Carolyn Mae Rollins; and brothers, Milton Irvin Rollins, Royal Llewellyn Rollins and William Edgar Rollins.
