The Salvation Army is asking you to dig up the nickels from your couch...
And pay a visit to your nearest red kettle bell ringer.

Some say it's not officially the holiday season until you hear that sound.
And it's a sound heard all over town today.
The Hastings Salvation Army is hoping to raise 185 thousand dollars this winter...
They're hoping 50 thousand of that will come from the bell ringers.
Donations will fund meals and shelter for the homeless throughout the year.
They're still looking for volunteers.
You can find the bell ringers at Russ's in Hastings, Allen's, Wal-Mart and M-Mart.
Info on signing up can be found at
The crowd was pouring into a side dining room last night at the Salvation Army's Thanksgiving dinner.
455 meals were served...
105 more people than ever before.
There were no leftovers at the end of the night.
