Former Douglas County GOP chairman Brian Buesher is running for Attorney General.
The Omaha attorney officially made the announcement today. Buesher is a former domestic violence prosecutor for the Douglass County Attorney's office.
If elected as Attorney General, he says his efforts will be focused on keeping violent criminals behind bars and advocating for changes to Nebraska's "Good Time Law." Buesher's name may sound familiar to central Nebraska residents.
He is a graduate of Sandy Cree High School in Clay County. The other candidates running for Attorney General are State Senator Pete Pirsch, and Lincoln attorney Mike Hilger. Attorney General Jon Bruning will not seek re-election. He's announced he'll run for Governor.
