As we continue our trip around the area previewing the soon approaching high school football season, tonight we look at a team almost certain to improve soon...

How much that will happen with the Central City Bison will be worth keeping our eyes on....

AS SECOND YEAR HEAD MAN TROY HUEBERT COACHES HIS CENTRAL CITY BISON HE PROBABLY THINKS SOMETIMES OF THE SCHOOL RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD,THE AURORA HUSKIES, HIS ALMA MATER COACHED BY HIS FATHER STATE CHAMPION COACH RANDY AND A TEAM ALMOST ALWAYS IN CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION.

HIS BISON ARE A MUCH DIFFERENT PROGRAM, WINNERS OF ONLY TWO GAMES LAST SEASON AND PLAYMAKERS NOT VERY COMMON.

SO ITS A CULTURE OF WINNING TROY HUEBERT WANTS TO BUILD AND HE'S SEEN IT DONE.

AND I THINK YOU KNOW IT'S A LEARNING CURVE AND WE'VE REALLY TAKEN THAT STEP THIS YEAR AND YOU KNOW WE'VE GOT GUYS THAT CAN RUN AND CATCH THE BALL AND WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT OUR QUARTERBACK POSITION RIGHT NOW AND I THINK WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO SOME THINGS AS FAR AS GETTING THE BALL SPREAD AROUND AND  BEING ABLE TO PUT SOME POINTS ON THE BOARD THIS YEAR.

THE BISON ARE CERTAINLY NOT WITHOUT TALENT AS SIX STARTERS ARE BACK ON EACH SIDE OF THE BALL AFTER A 2–6 SEAOSN.

JUNIOR MITCH CARLSON WON THE STARTING JOB AT QUARTERBACK MIDWAY THROUGH LAST SEASON AND FINISHED WITH 518 YARDS AND FIVE TOUCHDOWNS PASSING. THOMAS GEIGER CAUGHT 18 PASSES FOR 253 YARDS AND HE ALSO RAN FOR 121 YARDS AND TWO SCORES.  OFFENSIVE LINEMAN JEROD PAUP IS AN ALL–STATE CANDIDATE WITH DIVISION ONE SIZE AT 6–3 AND 265 POUNDS AND MIDDLE LINEBACKER THREE YEAR STARTER BRAD SCHOCH IS A TACLKING MACHINE WITH 112 STOPS FROM HIS MIDDLE LINEBACKER SPOT. SO THE BISON ARE TRYING TO DO THE DIFFICULT–TURN A LOSING TEAM INTO A WINNING ONE.

I'M LOVING THIS TEAM I THINK WE'VE GOT A BUNCH OF GREAT GUYS OUT THERE A LOT OF GREAT COACHES, I THINK IT'S GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR FOR US.

. COMPETING IN THE CLASS C1–6 DISTRICE THERE ARE SOME VICTORIES TO GET FROM THE BISON AMONG THE FIVE OPPONENTS. MAKING THE PLAYOFFS FOR NOW, THOUGH SEEMS TO BE A LONG SHOT.
