Congressman Adrian Smith spoke at the Nebraska Health Information Management Association Convention in Kearney.
He talked with residents about their concerns with the new changes to healthcare.
Congressman Smith is an opponent of Obamacare.
He says the law has too many flaws.
"My concern moving forward is that this heavy hand of the Federal Government whether it's the President's ideas in healthcare or others I fear will exacerbate this provider shortage that many of you have probably felt."
Congressman also addressed the 96–hour rule that he would like changed.
He recently proposed a bill that would eliminate new Medicare rules requiring a physician to limit a patient's stay in "critical access" hospitals to 96 hours.
