A Nebraska district court judge says a state law dealing with the Keystone XL pipeline is unconstitutional and void. This decision puts construction on hold.
Lancaster County District Judge Stephanie Stay says that LB 1161 allowing TransCanada to proceed with construction across Nebraska was unconstitutional.

The court ruled in favor of three Nebraska landowners who challenged the law. This ruling includes a permanent injunction preventing Governor Heineman and the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality from taking any further action to authorize or advance the pipeline under constitutional law.

President Obama is the final decision maker in the construction of the pipeline. U.S. Senate Candidate Dave Domina represented the landowners in the case.
