     Funeral Services for Craig L. King will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Darren Stroh officiating. Interment will be follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege with Military Honors provided by the Martin-Horn American Legion Post #66 in conjunction with the United States Navy Military Honors Team.

     Craig Lathrop King, 68 years of age, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Southlake Village Rehabilitation Care Center in Lincoln. Craig was born on October 24, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska the eldest of two sons born to Keith and Esther (Lathrop) King. He received his primary education from Holdrege Elementary School and later graduated with the Holdrege High School class of 1964. Craig pursued higher education from the Grand Island School of Business, earning a Junior Accounting Diploma.

     In 1965, Craig was inducted in to the United States Navy, serving his country as a radioman during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971.

     On February 23, 1966, Craig was united in marriage to Janet Johnson. To this union one son, Timothy was born. The family made their home in Lincoln, where Craig worked various jobs. He later earned an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Agriculture Business and Management Technology. Craig spent the last 20 years of his career in manufacturing at Molex in Lincoln.

     Craig was a member of the Capitol City Christian Church in Lincoln.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Stanley “Mike” Johnson.

     He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Janet King of Lincoln; son, Tim King and his wife, Angie of Lincoln; brother, Brad King and his wife, Kathy of Fremont, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Waynard Johnson and his wife, Donna of Holdrege; along with niece, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.      

     Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

     A memorial has been established in Craig’s honor and will be designated at a later date.
