"Who can pack a food box the fastest?" That's the question Mid Nebraska's Food Bank was asking Wednesday in Kearney.

Hosted by Disney on Ice, more than 3,000 pounds of food was packed up to be stored at the food bank.

Teams were made up of Disney on Ice skaters, UNK sports teams and members of greek life sororities and fraternities.

That food will feed nearly five thousand people in the need of a meal.

Simba's Pride was the winning team.

Event officials said they are grateful to the generous community of Kearney.

"It feels good to have the exposure in the community and to let everyone know you can have a good time while helping others," said nutrition services director Richard Weiss.

Tickets for Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure are available online at www.keaneryevents.com and www.disneyonice.com or at the Viaero Events Center Box Office.
