Dorothy J. Olson, 88, of Kearney, died Wednesday October 9, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney with Pastor F. Lee Arlington officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Rosemont cemetery in Webster County. Visitation will be Monday, October 134, 2013 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and prior to the funeral Tuesday.    She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Vern, on September 10 of this year; Lee and Dorothy would have celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary this month. Dorothy was a gifted piano teacher who gave her talents to generations of students, many of whom became piano teachers themselves. She taught music for sixty years. 
Dorothy and Lee were members of the Presbyterian Church in Kearney for many years, and later joined the New Life Assembly Church. Dorothy was involved in Bible study groups, Vacation Bible School, choir, and was a passionate participant in her church life. 
She is survived by her children: son, Steve, and Carol Olson of Broomfield, Colorado; son, Doug, and Nancy Olson of Sellersburg, Indiana; daughter, Jaime, and Ghansham Manwani of Sellersburg, Indiana; and daughter, Terri, and Dan Manecke of Floyd Knobs, Indiana; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and her sister, Ruby Krueger of Blue Hill, Nebraska.
