It's safe to say Creighton Bluejay fans were overjoyed 1st team All–American power forward Doug McDermott returned to the team for his senior year instead of opting for the NBA earlier this year....

So far the 6–8 senior from Ames, Iowa hasn't disappointed anyone averaging 25 points a game thru 9 contests.

Doug had 33 in the win over Nebraska Sunday.

His coach has seen Doug play a long time and knows what he'll get from him.

You know he's been remarkable consistant which that in itself is very difficult to do especially when you're known as the marked man everytime and I think it's hard to get excited about playing when you know that's coming. You Know, Doug's seen every defense known to man and he has to kind of prepare himself and kind of learn on the fly and find out what is going to be open as they start defending.

In addition to all of those defenses he sees, Doug and all other college players are trying to get used to a tighter game being called by the officals

Played 9 games and they're just starting to get used to it and so we are continuing to play smart, not have our hands in there and we'll be fine.

The Jays host Arkansas Pine Bluff at the Century Link Center Tuesday.

They'll have four home games between now and New Years Day including their first ever Big East game against Marquette New Years Eve.
