Two months after announcing her campaign for governor in 2014, State Sen. Annette announced her withdrawal from race Monday morning.
Dubas said campaign life was taking a toll on her and her family.
"It is with my family in mind that I announce that I am withdrawing as a candidate for Nebraska Governor," she said. "As with many experiences in life one can never fully prepare for or understand the demands until it becomes a reality."
Dubas said she has no regrets about running, and apologized for letting down those who supported her campaign both with their time and their money.
The Fullerton senator said she'll continue to focus her efforts on the upcoming legislative session.
Her top priorities include concerns surrounding property taxes and the need for Medicaid expansion.
As far as the race for governor, Chuck Hassebrook is now the only democrat in the race.
