A funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 10th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.  Florence was born on June 11, 1924, one of 10 children of Albert and Bertha (Kramer) Timmerman, at Stuart, NE.

Survivors include her daughter Connie Hemrick and special friend Dave Osborne, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Patricia Gonderinger of Grand Island, and daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Lynn Green of Omaha. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Kim Bastron and daughter Shane of Grand Island, Elizabeth Gonderinger, Davis Gonderinger, Matthew Gonderinger, Ryan Gonderinger and Katherine Gonderinger, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Polly and Loretta, and brother Bob.

Florence graduated from Atkinson High School and began life as a standard teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. She married Robert E. Gonderinger on April 19, 1944, at St. Boniface Church in Stuart. They lived in Atkinson before moving to Hebron in 1946. Florence was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Parish, and was actively involved in Altar Society, religious education and other church activities. After years as a homemaker and accomplished seamstress, taking on everything from full wedding parties to an entire team's worth of football jerseys, Florence returned to work in the school system in Hebron. She first worked in the lunchroom then became a teacher's aide in the primary grades, which allowed her to share her love of reading and correct spelling.

She came to Grand Island in 2006 following a decline in health, and moved to Edgewood Vista in 2007. She remained there until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons Paul and Michael, brothers Albert, Raymond, Bernard and Edward, and sisters Mary and Anne.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Parish. Funeral arrangements are being shared by All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island and Kroll Funeral Home in Hebron.
