Our high school football preview tour takes us to the town of Giltner this evening - home of the 2012 Class D-2 state champs.
As with most teams this time of year, the Hornets have plenty of holes to fill returning three starters on each side of the ball from last season's 13-0 squad.
But after running the table in fairly easy fashion, the Hornets remain hungry as ever as they now know what it takes to get to the top.
"That's the big thing. We know how hard we had to work last year. Everyone has been putting in just as much effort. Probably more than they ever have or thought they ever would," said Garrett Poppen.
"You get complacent it's going to end up like before. It'll be 20 years, 30 years before you get another state championship. So you only got now to do it," said Coach Jeff Ashby.
"Hopefully we can have everyone step up like I think we will and hopefully we can do what we did last year," Ben Hinrichs said.
