A 24-year-old former daycare employee will spend at least six years in jail for attempted sexual assault on a child.

Scott Meyer, of Grand Island, was arrested in February for allegedly assaulting two children between the ages of 3 and 5.

He was sentenced Thursday.

Deputy Hall County Attorney Sarah Carstensen said he worked at a daycare and a dance clothing store. And, that's where he came into contact with the kids.

Meyer also has to register as a sex offender.
