That's Grand Island Islander coach Jeff Tomlin on the first day of high school football practice at Memorial Stadium.
The Islanders are just one of dozens of teams back out on the practice field in preparation for the season opener.
In the Islanders case that's Thursday Night August 29th at Seacrest Field in Lincoln against Lincoln Northeast.
That early start is just fine with coach Tomlin.
"I like it, I think it's going to be kind of neat and be one of the few in the state and so kind of be a feature game and it's just something for our kids to look forward to so we're looking forward to it."
The coach feels he has playmakers all over the field with 16 lettermen back.
He feels after a 4–5 injury plagued season last year, this team here in 2013 can make a deep Class A Playoff run.
While that remains to be seen,he's glad to get his guys together starting at 5:45 this morning and get prepared to do just that.
"To start under the lights like we were this morning and it's another year, another crop of kids and have a great attitude and we've had a great off season and so we've really looked forward to getting out here and so it's finally the first day and we're enthused that it's here."
Those playmakers the Islanders have include Quarterback Pierce Almond, running back Kevin Cahoy, receiver Seth Roberg and defenders Rico Venegas and Steven Ziegler.
The Islander first home game is against Lincoln Southwest at Memorial Stadium.
