Running out of things to keep your kids occupied this Winter Break?  Well now the Grand Island Library is offering some special programs to get your kids out of the house and get their minds working.

Thursday the Library kicked off its Winter Break Programs with the Children's Train Program.

But the programs aren't just for kids.  On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for the next two weeks, the library is offering free children's and teen's programs.

"We don't want them just sitting around being couch potatoes. I know a lot of times they get new movies and videos and games and stuff but we want kids to be reading and so a good habit even over holiday break is just to say, hey before you go to bed, why don't you just curl up with a book for a while," said Youth Services Librarian Celine Swan.

The Winter Break Programs come to an end with a Movie Day on Saturday, January 4th.
