With construction of the Keystone XL pipeline on hold in Nebraska, TransCanda is exploring other options to transport its oil. TransCanada is considering ways to deliver the crude oil by rail to the United States.
This is according to CEO Russ Girling. In an interview with Bloomberg News, Girling says the pipeline company is looking to modify existing contracts with Keystone XL customers to allow for rail shipment. That could cost twice as much, compared to sending oil through the pipeline.
Both nominees for Nebraska Governor say Americans have waited long enough for a decision.
