Hall County has their sights set on a temporary courthouse while the current facility is renovated.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on a purchase Tuesday.
If the vote passes city council, the old workforce development building on Third St. will be the home away from home for courthouse employees.
The County's offer surpasses the appraised value of the building...
Board Chair Pam Lancaster says the appraised value wasn't public knowledge at the time of the offer.
Lancaster still says the temporary move should save the city about a million dollars.
"I don't anticipate supervisors to have an issue with this." Lancaster said. "We're all on board with the renovation of the courthouse. We know how serious this is."
Making courthouse employees work at the current courthouse through the construction could be expensive, as overtime hours would increase.
