Harold J. Bunge, 83 of Grand Island died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society, Ravenna.

Harold J. BungeServices will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  Reverend William Pavuk will officiate.  Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Soulville Cemetery west of Boelus.  Military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mr. Bunge was born August 17, 1930 at Falls City, NE the son of Edwin and Laura (Albers) Bunge.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jackie; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Steven Hughes of Weatherford, TX and Linda and John Rhenquist of Lake St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Christy Hughes, Scott Hughes, David Black, Ryan Black, Spencer Black and great-grandchildren, Lexi Hughes and Ari Black; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Mary Lou Bunge of Tucson, Arizona and sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Harold Wright of Tecumseh, NE.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Harold was raised on a farm near Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School, class of 1948.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 serving during the Korean War.  On June 29, 1957 he married Jacquelyn Zoe Tockey at Trinity Lutheran Church at Wichita, KS.  They lived in Wichita for 6 years before moving to Fort Worth, TX where they resided for 17 years.  Harold retired as a US Government Quality Aircraft Assurance Inspector.  They moved to Grand Island in 1980.  Harold then worked with Doug Riedy as an auto mechanic.  He and his wife wintered in Mission, Texas for 14 years.

Harold had a love for restoring classic Mustangs.  He is a member of the Eagles Camping Club, Vintage Classic Cars and Wheels, the Platt-Duetsche, American Legion and St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

Because Harold had a great love for the youth memorials are suggested to Heartland Lutheran High School.
