Area wrestlers will take the mats tomorrow. It will be the first of the 3 day Nebraska state high school wrestling tournament at the Century Link Center in Omaha.

Coach Brian Laux will bring12 wrestlers including five first time state qualifiers for his Hastings Tigers.

120 pounder Nolan Laux is a defending state champion....We Troung like Nolan, is a district champ.

The Tiger glory years of the late '80's come to mind when coach Laux himself was on the team..

These Tigers, after a great sendoff at the Jungle today, look to make their mark in Omaha the next 3 days..

WELL I KNOW WE'LL GO IN AND HAVE A PRETTY QUICK SHARPE PRACTICE AND MAKE SURE EVERYBODY'S FRESH FOR TOMORROW AND MAKE SURE EVERYBODY;S ON WEIGHT BUT WE'RE EXCITED TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE AND WE'RE JUST EXCITED AND READY TO GET GOING.

HOW EXCITED ARE YOU RIGHT NOW? ANTSY, GETTING READY FOR STATE,  IT SHOULD BE FUN. HOW ABOUT THE SEND OFF TODAY? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ALL OF THESE PEOPLE CHEERING YOU ON?  MOTIVATED US, WE'VE GO TO REPRESNET OUR SCHOOL HERE, EVERYBODY THAT GOES HERE

The Tigers were district runnersup to Omaha North here at the Jungle Saturday.

They along with fellow Class A teams Grand Island and Kearney will wrestle the late sessions in Omaha starting at about 4.

Classes B and C go early in the morning for two sessions.

Do you approve, or disapprove, of work done this session in the Nebraska state legislature?
