The Hastings Broncos hope they're still playing at the end of November
And to do so ...they'll have to get through perennial powers Northwestern and Morningside
The Broncos ...picked to finish fifth in conference behind the aforementioned dynamic duo
As well as Doane and Nebraska Wesleyan
But the hope over at 710 Turner Avenue
Is that last season's young group
Gained valuable experience that will only help in 2013
"We return a lot of guys. We were really young last year. We only had about 13 or 14 seniors total. Offensively we return four of our five offensive lineman. Our guys up front are where the most experience comes from. We've got to replace our whole backfield but we've got some guys that are juniors that are going to come in and compete. Matt Overmiller and Sean Robman."
Hastings opens the season at Lloyd Wilson Field hosting a non league game against Kansas Wesleyan
That one is set for six o'clock September 7th.
HC then kicks off GPAC play the following week
As they pay a visit to Concordia
