Also on day two at the Capitol, Health and Human Services continue to be at the center of attention-- especially with recent spotlight on troubled and violent youth at the state's YRTCs.

Thursday in Lincoln, the Legislature's Health and Human Services Committee met in front of a packed room for the first time this session.

The briefing at the State Capitol updated Senators on the current activities of Children and Family Services, Child Welfare, Foster Care Review and the Nebraska Children's Commission.

It's that Children's Commission who recently recommended that violent offenders at the state's YRTCs be moved to facilities in urban areas.

The HHS committee's first hearing of the session is on January 22nd.
