More than one hundred shooters sharpened their skills today, all to help Grand Island families in need.
Hope Harbor held their 6th annual charity fun shoot competition at the Heartland public shooting park. Last year the organization counted 260 people in Grand Island who were homeless. All of the money raised from today's event goes towards helping the homeless and near homeless in Grand Island. Executive director of Hope Harbor Melissa DeLaet says the money raised is invaluable to those in need.
"It's one of our favorite times a year to come out it's a great way for our staff and our board to interact and it's also a great way for our community to come out and support a great cause and really get to enjoy doing that ."
The organization has been fighting to end the epidemic of homelessness for nearly 20 years by providing shelter to homeless women and children.
