The House has passed a nearly 100 billion dollar a year compromise farm bill.
The vote was 251 to 166, the new five-year bill now goes to the Senate.
That bill, as proposed, is expected to save around 24 billion dollars over the next ten years. But the largest cut of that is 19 billion dollars from Farm Subsidy Programs, including the end of a direct-payment program for farmers.
