Husker basketball coach Tim Miles has been selected as winner of the Jim Phelan Award as NCAA Coach of the Year.

Tim was chosen from a list of 15 finalists including such notables as Billy Donavan of Florida, John Belein of Michigan, Greg Marshall of Wichita State, Sean Miller of Arizona and Greg McDermott of Creighton.

In his 2nd season at the helm, Nebraska finished 19–13 and earned the program's first NCAA bid since 1998.

Nebraska finished 11–7, good enough for 4th place in the Big Ten after being picked 12th in the pre–season poll.

The Huskers have most of their key players back for next season when they hope to make another run at the NCAA Tournament.
