Let's go to the stadium for tonight's college football season opener between the Wyoming Cowboys and Nebraska Huskers. Wyoming got on the board first as Brett Smith hit Jalen Claiborne with a six yard touchdown pass to lead 7-0. With the score 7-3, Smith threw deep by Stanley Jean Baptiste came up with the interception at the goal line and returned it to near midfield. Taylor Martinez then hit Jamal Turner with a touchdown pass and the Huskers led 10-7. After a Wyoming touchdown gave them the lead 14-10, Ameer Abdullah ran 62 yards deep inside Wyoming territory. Imani Cross scored on a one yard run and Nebraska led 17-14. In the 3rd quarter, the Huskers scored twice more. Cross on a long run and a Martinez to Quincy Enunwa TD pass gave Nebraska a 31-14 lead. Wyoming scored 3 more touchdowns but came up short, 37-34. The Huskers win their 28th consecutive opener and host Southern Miss next Saturday. Wyoming goes home to host Idaho.
