Safe to say there wasn't much to celebrate football wise here in the last few days.
But, here is something to brighten the mood. The Big Ten...released it's yearly honors today with a dozen Huskers receiving recognition.
No surprise here... running back Ameer Abdullah receiving first team honors from both the coaches and the media. After a ridiculous junior which he amassed over 1500 yards and 8 touchdowns. Newcomer Randy Gregory also earning all conference honors on both teams with his league best 9.5 sacks, while senior defensive back Ciante Evans makes the coaches All-Big Ten first team.
Joining the trio on the coaches All-Conference team, cornerback Stanley Jean Baptiste, defensive end Jason Ankrah, and wide Reciever Kenny Bell. Offensive lineman Cole Pensick, Andrew Rodriguez and Jeremiah Sirles, along with safety Corey Cooper as well.
The media's squad ...and no... Colin Murphy did not have a vote, was very similar to the coaches. Although Ciante drops to the second team and Pensick is an honorable mention.
Good to see Pat Smith making the list as well as he continues the legacy of solid special teamers at Nebraska.
