When they arrived at Haymarket Park tonight, a milestone victory was in reach for the Husker baseball team.
A 25th win is what the Big Red was after.
Let's go back to Haymarket where the Huskers take on the UNO Mavericks on a clear, cool night.
Bottom of one, Nebraska picks up right where they left off in the win against Kansas State last night.
Austin Darby up there in the bottom of the first, men on 2nd and 3rd, and Austin comes thru scoring Jake Placzak and Michael Prichard to tie the game at 2.
The hit parade continues, Steven Reveles finds room to right, it is down for another hit and Darby scores to make it 3–2.
Huskers not thru in the first, Blake Headley rolls one thru the left side, in comes Reveles and the Huskers lead the Mavs 4–2..
To the 2nd, where things really got out of control.
Darby with a base knock to center, Prichard and Kelly in, it was just the beginning, 6–2,
Kearney Bearcat alum Taylor Fish then delivers. His basehit brings in Reveles for a 9–2 Big Red lead.
Then Michael Prichard on fire as of late, keeps the hit parade going with a double into the gap, the Huskers score 10 in the inning, send 16 men to the plate most since an inning in 2010 and win the game 17-6.
