Funeral Services for Jeremy M. Carbaugh will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Jeff Adams officiating. Following the traditional funeral, cremation will take place and inurnment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
Jeremy Michael Carbaugh, 26 years of age, of Lincoln, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege), passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident near Hastings, Nebraska. Jeremy was born October 27, 1986 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Jerry and Cheryl (Ohlson) Carbaugh. He received his primary education from Holdrege Public Schools and later received his GED.
Jeremy attended the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege with his family and dad.
Jeremy worked many different construction jobs, but he especially enjoyed roofing. He was currently employed with Buhr Construction in Lincoln. Jeremy thought of Cody Buhr as more than a boss, he was his role model. Jeremy looked up to Cody, who inspired him to be on top of his own career. Jeremy enjoyed the friendship they had together.
He enjoyed fishing and camping. With everything Jeremy did, he always had a smile on his face, making people laugh and had a positive attitude on life. Jeremy loved being a father to his two children and tried to spend as much time as possible with them and his family. Jeremy lived everyday like there was no tomorrow.
Jeremy was preceded in death by a son in infancy; his father, Jerry Carbaugh in May of 2013; a brother, Steven in infancy; two uncles: Aaron Carbaugh in infancy and Jon Carbaugh; grandparents: Harold and Lucille Ohlson and Edgar and Marsha Carbaugh.
He leaves to mourn his passing; his children: Jaydon and Jaycee Carbaugh of Kearney; his fiancé, Jenny Pierce of Kearney; mother, Cheryl Carbaugh of Lincoln; brother, Chris Carbaugh and his wife, Drew of Holdrege; half-brother, Jerry Carbaugh and his wife, Jessica of Cambridge, Nebraska; two sisters: Tanya Harvey and her husband, Tim and Angie Jewitt and her husband, Allen all of Lincoln; nine nieces and nephews: Nyleigh, Preston, Madison, Coy, Chloe, Claire, Paisley, Cain, and Paityn; uncles: Alan Carbaugh and Lee Carbaugh both of Ft. Worth, Texas; aunts: Marilyn Layton and her husband, Mike of Holdrege, Linda Leisure of Omaha, Nebraska, Nancy Judd and her husband, Rick of McCook, Nebraska, Marlene Svoboda and her husband, Tom of McCook, and Barbara Carbaugh of Rockwall, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Jeremy’s honor and kindly suggested to the family for college funds for his children.
